What is Event Buddy?

Event Buddy is a Discord bot and web calendar built for planning and announcing community events — no spreadsheets, no manual reminders, no one forgetting to post.

How it works

Built for real communities

Setup takes a minute

A server admin runs /eb mod-role and /eb channel in Discord to pick who can manage events and where announcements post. No config files, no hosting to manage — everyone with that role can then log in here and start planning. See the Help page for a full walkthrough of every feature.

Recurring events

Stopping a series removes it and all its future occurrences.

Server settings

When off, no daily digest posts for this server, even if individual events have "include in daily digest" turned on.

When on, any member of this server can log in and view the calendar (read-only) — they can't create, edit, or delete anything.

When on, posted events also appear in Discord's native Scheduled Events tab, once there's an announcement to link to. Discord doesn't give bots a way to silence its own "someone's interested" notifications, so keep RSVPs happening through Event Buddy's own button.

Audit log

Who did what on the web panel. Kept for 120 days.

Build bracket

Seeds one match per team from whatever teams currently exist on the going list. Building again replaces any existing bracket for this date.

Bracket

Picture (optional)

PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP, up to 5 MB. Shows under the description in the Discord announcement.

@mention roles (optional)
Delivery
Must be before the event's own date. Leave blank to not post ahead of time at all — the event will still be announced when it starts.
Reminders
Repeat (optional)
Post a fresh announcement (required for recurring events)
Each occurrence after the first gets its own new announcement and RSVP list.
